Reading: We are continuing our new unit: Meeting Characters and Learning Lessons.
We started this week with reorganizing our classroom library and book
shopping to get books with a lot of characters! We will continue learning new ways
to go on adventures with our characters and understand what is happening in our stories.
We will check predictions and continue to retell what has happened in our stories.

Writing: Yesterday we cleaned out our writing bins.
We kept a few books at school but you should have gotten their green folder with
reviews in it and their poetry books home yesterday! Also, here are some photos
from our poetry reading we had after our Author’s Breakfast:

Word Study: This week in Word Study we are going to be starting Unit 8.
In Unit 8 we will be learning about consonant blends and learning a few new
trick words like would, could, and should. An information packet about Unit 8 will
come home later this week!

Math:  We started this week finishing up our Unit 5 test.
We will finish the week with starting Unit 6 which is a fun unit about
collecting data and comparing it.

Content: This week in science we are going to talk about the engineering process.
We will also talk about making a trap for some sneaky leprechauns that might
be sneaking in on Friday!

Let me know if you have any questions.
