Hello, It was fun to celebrate NDLC last week! Students had fun meeting with their third grade buddies, dressing up, and celebrating our school. Happy New Directions Week!  It’s a fun week to celebrate what makes our school a great place to BE!  Make sure to check out the dress up days and I hope that you are able to make it to one or both of our families nights this week. Also, we are in need of newspapers for a STEAM project coming up. If you are able to bring any in, that would be great! Upcoming Events: January 23rd: Art Family Night 5:30-6:30 January 25th: Jump Rope for Heart Family Night: 5:30- 7:00 We took some pictures last week to decorate our unique door. Just thought I would share a few in case you can't make it to family night to see! Reading: This week we will be meeting with our book clubs and getting to know our characters.  We will act out our books and work on changing our voice to match the book. Hello! This week we will be decorating our door to fit our theme of the year which is to BE ___. We chose the word 'unique' so our theme and will be decorating to show how our class is unique and how each one of us are unique! Feel free to talk to your child about what makes them unique to give them some ideas for later in the week. Today we also read a few books about Martin Luther King Jr. and the impact he had on our world. It was nice to shed light on why we have a national holiday named after him! Don't forget...January is a big month for our school!  There are many informational events taking place to help others learn more about New Directions.  Please share these dates with anyone you think may be interested in learning more about what a great place New Directions is for students to learn and grow!
